Manpower is recruiting for Mechanical Production Operatives. Recent graduates in Mechanical/Engineering to gain experience in the battery or chemical industry, or individuals with operation experience in chemical/pharma or related industries would be ideal for this role. This is a 6-month temporary contract with the potential to go permanent for the right person.
Pay rates:
1. £12.50 for days
2. £15.00 for nights
Shift pattern:
3. 4-day shifts, 4 days off, 4-night shift, - no changes to this shift pattern - Rotational shifts.
Duties include:
4. Operation of the pilot plant equipment (training provided)
5. Assembly and disassembly of plant equipment for either maintenance or troubleshooting (training provided)
6. Monitoring of production processes and fault diagnosis
7. Handling and preparations of raw materials and products
8. Ensuring high quality standards are maintained throughout
9. Adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidance as well as promoting a safe culture
10. Acting as members of site Emergency Response Team.
11. Keeping high standards of housekeeping
Criteria:
12. Eligible to work in the UK
13. Minimum NVQ/BTEC qualification in a mechanical or scientific field is preferable but not essential
14. Exceptional attention to detail
15. Experience following Standard Operating Procedures
16. Comfortable working with tools (Assembly and disassembly of plant equipment)
17. Able to perform manual handling tasks lifting the HSE specified whilst wearing a respirator
18. Flexibility to work shifts and support the production activities through overtime (always agreed, never imposed)
19. Understanding of hazards associated with chemical reactions, pressure, temperature, gases, powders, solvents and hazardous materials handling in general
20. Good communication skills
21. PC literate
22. First aid trained (will be provided)
23. Forklift licence would be desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
