About the Role

Forming part of the Australian Sales team, Area Managers are responsible for the commercial success of an Area including the output from Dyson Experts and Stylists that work within that Area. The aim of the role is to grow market share and unit sell-out through exceptional customer service and commercial focus. Experts and Stylists are a national team of sales professionals, driving sell-out and building brand advocacy within our retailers by demonstrating Dyson products.

Area Managers have responsibility for compliance within our retail partners’ stores and building further awareness of the Dyson brand across all our categories. They are responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans and activities to grow sales volume, value and Dyson market share within a defined Area.

You will build and manage the relationships with our retailers, in order to create a true Dyson customer experience within their retail space and will work closely with our National Account Managers, Marketing and Finance teams to ensure Dyson’s sales strategy is delivered in your area.

You will be responsible for our Brisbane South and Northern NSW territory, encompassing locations like Gold Coast, Tingalpa, Capalaba, Logan, Ballina, Lismore, Toowoomba, and Ipswich.

Our Area Managers do require a degree of flexibility to meet customer expectations and this will include weekend work and some evening events which may require you to stay away from home.

Main responsibilities include but not limited to:-

1. Proactively drive sales growth, market share, and unit sell-out within a defined area

2. Lead, coach, and develop Dyson Experts and Stylists to achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets

3. Build and manage strong relationships with retail partners, store managers, JVPs, and franchisees to create an exceptional Dyson customer experience

4. Develop and execute strategic sales plans and activities at the store and area level

5. Conduct robust business discussions with vendors, leveraging market intelligence, sales data, and Dyson marketing plans

6. Analyse and interpret sales drivers to optimise visit frequency and account activity

7. Take the lead in developing and delivering inspiring and innovative training and vendor events, demonstrating clear ROI

8. Maintain active knowledge of all Dyson products, new product developments, competitor machines, and market intelligence to effectively communicate the Dyson difference

9. Ensure compliance across the Dyson range within retail partners' stores

10. Provide detailed weekly feedback on team and store performance to the Field and Retail Sales Manager, including key drivers, enablers, and inhibitors

11. Promote and demonstrate Dyson behaviours, ensuring adherence to Dyson policies and health and safety procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a results-driven sales professional with a proven track record in driving sales growth and leading remote sales teams. You'll excel at building strong relationships with retailers and coaching your team to exceed targets. Adaptable and autonomous, you thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of analysing data to inform strategic sales initiatives. Flexibility for weekend and evening work, along with travel, is essential.

Previous skills & experience:-

12. Demonstrable sales success in a Field Sales role

13. Experience leading a remote sales team

14. Strong experience with customer negotiations and influencing commercial outcomes

15. Budget control and can demonstrate financial expertise

16. Written & verbal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business
