About the Role
This opportunity sits at the centre of a growing, purpose-led consultancy and blends strategic oversight with operational delivery. Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of how capability is planned and deployed across a project-based business, ensuring strong utilisation, high-quality delivery and sustainable growth.
This is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent. This is a part-time position worked across 3-4 days.
You will:
* Set and evolve the overall resourcing strategy, aligning capability to demand and embedding a consistent, scalable approach to workforce planning
* Use forecasting and utilisation data to inform short-, medium- and long-term capacity decisions, supporting both commercial performance and people development
* Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, providing clear insight on operational performance and enabling informed, forward-looking decisions
* Develop and manage a high-quality associate ecosystem, balancing flexibility, expertise and commercial value
* Strengthen governance, reporting and systems to improve visibility, efficiency and decision-making across the consulting function
About You
You are a commercially aware resource or workforce planning professional who combines strategic thinking with strong operational grip. You are motivated by enabling high-performing teams and are comfortable operating in a fast-paced consulting or professional services environment. You are also energised by working with or in support of the public sector and aligned with values-led, impact-driven work.
You will bring:
* Demonstrable experience in resource management or workforce planning within a project-based, professional services setting
* A strong grasp of utilisation, revenue and margin drivers, and how resourcing decisions impact financial performance
* The ability to interpret workforce and performance data, turning analysis into practical action
* Experience working with associate or contractor models, including commercial and contractual considerations
* Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders with clear, insight-led reporting
* A collaborative, solutions-focused approach, with the organisational skills and digital confidence to enhance systems and processes as the business grows
