About the Role
Provide assistance, guidance, and advice on environment, health, and safety matters as required by the business.
Responsibilities
* Develop and manage relationships with the Health and Safety Executive, lead HSE audits, and ensure timely closure of issues, while identifying improvements.
* Promote a safety culture across the HSW departments, build relationships, drive initiatives, and communicate successes.
* Manage the COSHH manual in compliance with relevant legislation.
* Ensure data submission in accordance with Packaging Waste Regulations.
* Conduct EHS inspections and audits on and off-site, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure legal and other requirements are met.
* Assist in accident investigations to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
* Review policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure alignment with the management system and compliance monitoring.
* Maintain records related to EHS, including ISO 14001 standards, waste, water, energy, and carbon footprinting.
* Collaborate with the Health & Safety Network to ensure compliance and best practices.
* Develop and maintain relationships with outsourced HS&E providers and streamline standards where necessary.
* Maintain and improve EHS systems.
* Identify new technologies and best practices to enhance safety culture and environmental impact, leading initiatives to completion.
* Develop and deliver EHS training programs.
* Participate actively as a member of the HSW’s Plant Leadership Team.
* Perform departmental administration as needed.
