Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Installer – John Lewis & Partners
Apply as a Driver Installer in a Customer Delivery Hub, where you’ll bring John Lewis service right to customers’ doors and install products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets as part of a 2‑person delivery crew, driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
About the Role
You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Note: This role involves heavy lifting. You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand and deliver great customer service.
* Load the lorry with the day's deliveries and work alongside the warehouse team.
* Respect customers’ homes and handle unexpected situations to find the best solution.
* Install products efficiently and quickly, demonstrating how they work once installed.
* Keep up to date with new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
* DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or Driver Qualification Card by first day.
* Tachograph Card.
* Previous experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
* Previous experience in a customer‑facing role.
* Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and in person.
* Good understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Installation and disconnection of white goods.
* TV installation.
* Assembly of a flat pack.
Salary
Up to £32,149 (Annually) depending on experience.
