About the role:
You will support on a mixture of regular and project work, analysing credit and impairment performance to contribute actively to the business strategy and purpose. Our dedicated Credit Risk Analyst pathway will help to guide and support your personal development.
Reporting directly into our Credit and Impairment Manager, the role will be based in our Head Office on Whitehall Road, Leeds, which is just a short walk from Leeds Train Station. The office has been designed as a collaborative space which supports hybrid working.
Key role responsibilities are:
Regular Reporting & Management Information
* Production, maintenance and distribution of the monthly credit reporting suite.
* Ad-hoc reporting and analysis to identify, understand and explain performance trends.
* Promote the sharing of best practice across the Group.
* Ensure documentation is regularly reviewed and kept up to date.
* Use clear and honest communication to update key stakeholders.
Analysis & Project Work
* Support the Credit team to ensure existing impairment models are still appropriate.
* Support the roll out of models across new portfolios.
* Build understanding of data and reporting systems to aid independent analysis.
Audit & Governance
* Support the Credit & Impairment Manager to ensure compliance with internal control frameworks.
* Support the Credit & Impairment Manager to comply with the requirements of external audit.
* Provide governance and oversight that credit strategy changes adhere to Group policy.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Demonstrated analytical and numerical skills.
* Strong verbal and written communicator, with good presentation skills.
* Organised and able to meet time sensitive deadlines.
* High level of attention to detail, delivering error free work under pressure.
* A logical and methodical thought process.
* Commercially aware decision making.
* High level understanding of the concept of credit risk management including the tools available to support management of credit risk.
* Experience using Excel, SQL, VBA, Snowflake, PowerBI or similar an advantage but not required.
* High level knowledge of IFRS 9 and expected loss models an advantage but not required.
