Job Description
PE Global is currently recruiting for a Development Engineer (engines experience) to join a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment based in Peterborough. This is an initial 12 months contract based on site. Pay rate is £35.37 ph PAYE and £48.01 ph Umbrella.
Duties of the role / Responsibilities
* Execution of Core Engine System validation activities
* New product development technical issue resolution
* Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs
* Plan and execute validation tests
* Conducting component and system design reviews
* Keeping peers, team leader, and management up to date with progress against planned activities
* Support resolution to production, test, and field issues, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions
* Work with suppliers and keep stakeholders informed of progress and decisions
Education / Experience
* Technical background (HNC or technical degree in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued
* Knowledge in a minimum of one or more of the following Core Engine systems: Rotating Systems, Valvetrain, Castings, Lubrication, Breather and Cooling systems, Bolted joint and sealing experience
* Minimum 3 years relevant development experience
* Good understanding of Manufacturing principles & processes
* Development experience of mechanical components and systems, including both rig and complete system testing
* Self-motivation and an ability to manage and deliver tasks to meet established commitments
* Excellent communication skills & teamwork
