Assistant Head of Year (Term Time Only + 2 SDDs)
The Post
The Trustees are seeking to appoint an Assistant Head of Year (AHOY) to provide a complementary service to existing teachers and pastoral staff within the School. The post will address the needs of children, supporting them in overcoming barriers to learning and enabling them to achieve their full potential, thereby supporting the School to raise standards of achievement, improvement, attendance and behaviour.
Responsibilities
* Provide a complementary service to teachers and pastoral staff.
* Support children in overcoming barriers to learning and enabling them to reach their full potential.
* Assist the School in raising standards of achievement, improvement, attendance and behaviour.
* Act as a proactive, approachable positive role model and good listener to students.
* Join and contribute to a successful pastoral and behaviour team, which will expand as the school grows.
Qualifications and Experience
* Good standard of Education (Level 3).
* Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
* At least 2 years’ experience of working with secondary school students (desirable).
* Experience working within a pastoral and behaviour team is advantageous.
Term Time Only + 2 Staff Development Days
Hours are 37 per week: 08.00 – 16.00 Mon – Thurs, 08.00 – 15.30 Fri (including 30 minutes unpaid lunch break).
