SkyWay is searching for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees! No prior Trustee experience is required—just a passion for supporting our work with young people and communities.
As Treasurer, you'll help oversee our finances, ensuring we can continue empowering young people through youth work, sports, mentoring, employment opportunities, and much more.

Treasurer responsibilities:
The role of the Treasurer on the Board is to maintain effective governance of the organisation's affairs, ensuring its financial viability and proper processes and procedures, and maintaining all financial records, decisions, and delegations.
Support the Trustees to carry out their financial responsibilities through:
* Presenting financial reports to the board in an understandable format
* Advising the board on financial responsibilities
* Liaising with professional advisors
* Supporting the Finance Manager to prepare the annual accounts
* Recommending appropriate accounting procedures, controls, and policies
* Overseeing the appointment of auditors and reviewing audits regularly
* Providing data for external audits and reviewing audit observations
Interest:
* Ensure that money held on deposit earns a good rate of interest
Insurance:
* Ensure that appropriate insurances are maintained
Governance:
* Ensure the Board is aware of its financial duties and legal responsibilities
* Review financial policies, procedures, and external financial advisors regularly
Payments:
* Make online payments as an authorized signatory
* Ensure compliance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association, charity law, and relevant legislation
* Apply resources in line with charitable objects
* Maintain financial stability and effective administration
* Attend evening Trustee meetings every two months, annual AGMs, and at least one Trustee away day per year
Duties as Employer:
* Ensure good employment practices
* Implement and monitor equitable practices
* Appoint and monitor the performance of the CEO
* Contribute to strategic direction, policy setting, and performance evaluation
Duties, General:
* Safeguard the Organisation's reputation and values
* Manage property and investments
Qualifications:
We’re looking for someone with strong financial expertise, preferably a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), to help us maintain robust financial governance.
