Technical Specialist - Remote - up to £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits - REF 2011
I am currently recruiting for a Technical Specialist to work for a leading engineering organisation. You will be able to work from home on the basis of reporting to the office (Surrey) as and when required, typically once per week. Salary up to £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits.
The organisation has been established for over 30 years and are renowned for the best at what they do within the defense and military sector on a global basis. They are a small yet specialist team employing around 50 people, with turnover over £20 million annually and growth projections tied to demand for their products and systems.
To support the business with the current workload and in line with their expansion plans they have the need to appoint a Technical Specialist on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
As a Technical Specialist, you will:
* Support the Business Development team with bids and tenders from a technical perspective.
* Interpret customer requirements and conduct research to engineer solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
* Draft technical proposals and ensure products, applications or systems comply with relevant standards and legislation.
* Liaise with suppliers as part of the proposal development process.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience as an engineer (electronics, systems, software, mechanical or similar)
* At least 5 years in industry
* Experience in producing technical documentation (tenders, bids, technical specifications, test plans, architecture documentation, user manuals, safety reports)
Desirable Requirements
* Experience within the Defence, Military or Aerospace domains
* SC Cleared or previously having been SC Cleared
* Familiar with MIL, DEF, EMC standards
Notes
This role would suit either someone who has moved from engineering into commercially focused bid/tender management or an engineer heavily involved in technical documentation and willing to move into a more commercially focused, hands-off role while continuing to apply technical knowledge to propose correct solutions.
