We are looking for an enthusiastic Delivery Driver to join our busy IT stores team within the University’s IT Asset and Configuration Management service.
About The Role
Working as an integral part of the stores team, you will deliver essential IT equipment to our staff at the University’s many sites around Southampton, Winchester, and the surrounding area. Our customers are also our colleagues, so a friendly manner and excellent customer service skills are essential.
What You’ll Do
* Deliver IT equipment to customers across multiple sites
* Drive and maintain a large Transit-style van
* Safely load and unload IT equipment and other items
* Handle customer queries
* Locate customers who may not be where they said they would be
* Record all deliveries accurately
* Receive goods, including unloading deliveries from suppliers safely
* Assist in keeping the stores area tidy and free of hazards, reporting any potential issues
What You’ll Bring
* Excellent customer service skills
* Careful driving skills — deliveries are not against the clock, so safety is more important than speed
* Ability to plan routes, follow directions, and adapt to changes like roadworks or traffic congestion
* Attention to detail and patience
