Job Role: Senior Architectural Technologist Location: Birmingham Salary: £35,000 – £44,000 DOE Aztrum is excited to be working with a growing, design-led architectural practice based in the West Midlands, known for creating thoughtful and bespoke residential projects. Their work ranges from sensitive refurbishments to striking contemporary new builds, all delivered with a strong focus on context, detail, and client collaboration. As the practice continues to expand, they’re now looking to bring a Senior Architectural Technologist on board to support the early stages of residential projects — from initial ideas through to planning. This is a great opportunity to get involved in shaping unique homes across the region, working closely with a creative and supportive team. What you’ll be doing as a Senior Architectural Technologist: • Take the lead on early-stage design work, including concept development, feasibility studies, and planning proposals (RIBA Stages 0–3) • Turn client briefs into well-resolved architectural ideas that combine function, style, and compliance • Develop clear, high-quality Revit models and drawings to support design presentations and planning submissions • Carry out site visits and planning research to help inform design choices around form, layout, and materials • Work closely with consultants and planners to guide projects smoothly through the early design and approvals process • Make sure all design outputs are both visually strong and technically sound What we’re looking for: • A degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology — CIAT accreditation would be a plus • At least 5 years of UK-based experience, ideally in a residential or design-focused practice • Strong experience in early-stage work (RIBA Stages 0–3), with a portfolio that shows your concept and planning skills • Confident in Revit, with a good grasp of residential design principles and planning requirements • Solid understanding of UK building regs and the planning system — especially for one-off or high-end homes • Comfortable presenting and explaining design ideas to both clients and collaborators • Detail-driven, creative, and passionate about high-quality, people-focused design If this sounds like your kind of role and you're ready to take the next step, apply directly or give me a call on (phone number removed) to find out more
