Dorset Waste Services ( Place ) has a vacancy for an Operations Supervisor based at the Shaftesbury and Blandford Depots in Dorset. Responsibilities of this role are to Supervise and co-ordinate the day to day activities of operational staff and vehicles to deliver domestic, commercial and garden waste services, street cleansing and related commercial services, as provided by the Dorset Waste Services What you will be doing In the role you will be expected to manage staff, including monitor sickness absence and deal with any disciplinary issues. Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures is beneficial. Ensure all activities are carried out to service standards complying with all Health and Safety regulations; a good understanding of Health and Safety processes and regulations is required. You must be able to give instructions and have good communication and IT skills as you will be dealing with Councillors and members of the public on a regular basis; having good local knowledge will also be an advantage. This role is based at the Ferndown Depot but maybe required to cover and provide support when necessary, at other depots across the full Dorset Council area. The post holder will be expected to work 37 hours per week, to cover early mornings, evenings, weekends and some bank holiday working. Flexibility to work additional hours is required.
