Senior Admin Lead

This exciting Senior Admin Lead position has become vacant at NPC Wellway. We are looking for someone who has a passion for Primary Care and Leadership and willing to work in a busy practice, operating across two sites (Morpeth & Pegswood) and be part of the bigger Northumbria Primary Care group.
The successful candidate will support the Practice Manager with operational management to ensure a high quality service for patients. The candidate will work with the NPC North Neighbourhood at a new and exciting time of transformation and working more closely together.

Main duties of the job
* Responsible to Practice Manager.
* Act up in absence of Practice Manager for periods of annual leave/short term sickness.
* Day to day supervision for reception/administrative staff ensuring provision of a high quality service.
* Provide comprehensive administration service to GPs and other health care professionals.
* Manage diaries/appointments, arrange/minute meetings, communication with GPs and patients.
* Advanced typing & transcription of clinical and non-clinical documents (OCR 3 or equivalent qualification/experience).
* Support effect utilisation of clinic capacity.
* Work with and support collaborative working with peers across the neighbourhood and NPC wide.
* Support management of patient journeys including target administration e.g. GP referrals, Cancer 2WW and communications to GP's.
* Support Practice Manager with induction/training of new staff, sharing knowledge with colleagues and supervising Apprentices when required.
* Resource management - ordering of supplies and equipment
* Allocate and manage training and work patterns within reception services.

Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs and now manages several GP practices with around 120,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside.
Whilst appointees will have a base practice within NPC, they may be asked to work at other practices across our group. We do however limit this as much as possible as we appreciate continuity is vital to effective primary care.

Job responsibilities
* To provide and be responsible for the day to day management of the reception and administrative staff.
* To provide comprehensive admin service to GPs and other health care professionals in their team.
* To allocate work and supervise other admin staff.
* To actively participate in the improvement of procedures and developments in primary care involving administrative and reception support.
* To actively engage in patient experience initiatives which involves appropriate communication between staff in all NPC sites.
* To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching topromote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
Qualifications
* GCSE English Language & Mathematics grade C/equivalent qualification or demonstrable level of functional Maths and English skills.
* Vocational Level 3 in relevant subject or equivalent qualification and/or experience
* RSA 3/OCR (or equivalent) or equivalent or relevant typing/word processing experience
Experience
* Significant experience of administration in primary care environment
* Experience of change managementKnowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
* Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
