This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering surveying, engineering and compliance services across defence, public sector and commercial environments. As the business continues to expand, the focus on quality, governance and data-led decision making has never been more important.
You’ll be based primarily in the Portsmouth office, with one day per week from home and flexibility for additional hybrid working where required.
The Role
As Quality Manager – Governance, you will play a key role in shaping, embedding and maintaining governance and quality frameworks across the business. Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you’ll ensure policies, data and controls are effective, compliant and aligned with best practice.
This is a hands-on role with real influence, ideal for someone who enjoys turning governance into something practical, usable and valuable to the wider organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Develop, implement and maintain corporate quality and governance frameworks
* Oversee compliance with internal policies, legal requirements and industry standards
* Manage risk registers, assurance processes and governance reporting
* Coordinate internal and external audits, assessments and action plans
* Analyse governance and performance data to support informed decision-making
* Support senior leadership with governance reporting, board papers and insight
* Review and improve decision-making processes to drive consistency and transparency
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement across quality and governance practices
* Provide guidance and support to teams on governance, risk and compliance matters
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in quality, governance, risk, compliance or assurance roles
* Strong data and analytical capability, with attention to detail
* Experience developing and managing policies, procedures and controls
* Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders at all levels
* Structured, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Background in construction, engineering, defence or consultancy is beneficial but not essential
* Relevant qualifications (ISO Auditor, IRM, CGI/ICSA or similar) are desirable
* Must hold or be able to obtain UK Government Security Clearance
