Senior Advisor - Future Agriculture - Environmental Land Management - 31666

This national role is based in England with a flexible/hybrid working arrangement; some travel/overnights will be required.
Responsibilities
* Provide advice in meetings, manage commissions, deliver and oversee Programme milestones, and identify future risks and resource requirements.
* Influence the design and delivery of incentives within the Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes; contribute to shaping the organisation’s response to government reviews.
* Contribute to the delivery of Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT) products within the Farming and Countryside Programme, and drive continuous improvement through design and delivery.
* Work across multiple teams and organisations, including senior leaders, to articulate a scheme that supports and delivers outcomes for water, soil, biodiversity and climate goals.
* Operate within an agile, fast-paced, collaborative environment and help manage uncertainty to deliver clarity.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience of Agriculture and working with Defra and other statutory bodies is essential.
* Politically aware with excellent communication and networking skills.
* Understanding environmental sensitivities associated with significant agriculture sector reform.
* Experience interpreting/evaluating evidence to propose effective risk-based solutions for challenging problems.
* Ability to prioritise and deliver complex work; self-starter who actively develops and takes ideas forward.
* Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to get things done through others, embody the organisation’s culture, build trusted information, cascade key information, build relationships quickly, and manage difficult situations.

Additional Information
You’ll have an incident management objective in your development plan; appropriate training will be provided. The Environment Agency base location is flexible/hybrid within England. Some travel is required. We have a Guaranteed Interview Policy to support applicants with a disability.
