PART-TIME SKILLED OPERATIVE (WEEKEND SLICER OPERATIVE)
VALLEY PARK – (BARNSLEY)
Shift Pattern: Weekend only (Saturday & Sunday)
Working Hours: 5.30am to 6.00pm
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-time Slicing Operative to join Slicing Department.
As a Slicing Operative, you will carry out preoperative checks, ensure standard settings and best practices are followed, and work closely with your supervisor to achieve maximum yield, minimise giveaway and meet production targets.
You will also communicate effectively with section managers and Engineers, reporting any instances where standard performance cannot be achieved.

What you'll be doing:
* Complete all Pre-Start checks.
* Systematic approach to set up in time for production run to start.
* Define Slicer/ Scanning Components.
* Understand and confidently adjust screen parameters for optimal performance & data supplied from screen and acting accordingly.
* Selecting correct slicer program for product.
* Resetting (Taring) slicer weigh beds.
* Clearing and resetting scanner programs.
* Select, adjust and exchange product holders.
* Have a basic knowledge of target product yields.
* Understanding optimum and planned run rates.
* Understand Trim Waste/Floor waste.
* Liaise with the booking out team to ensure correct feedstock and time management to line.
