About the role
We’re looking for a keen and confident Editorial Assistant to join the Wonderly editorial team based at Volkswagen Group UK’s headquarters in Milton Keynes. This position would suit someone early in their editorial career, who is eager to learn, bursting with natural creativity and curiosity, and has an interest in cars and digital content.
On behalf of Volkswagen Group UK (VWG), we operate Hub, the main digital communication channel between its brands - including Volkswagen cars, Audi, SEAT, CUPRA and Skoda - and its national network of dealers, retailers and repair centres.
The Hub team creates, edits and publishes news and reference articles spanning everything from the latest model launches and finance offers to minor specification and business updates. It’s a fast-moving corporate environment, where you’ll be expected to turn your hand to a variety of tasks, including writing, copy-editing and video production, and working day-to-day with our clients in SEAT/CUPRA.
You will be working to support the SEAT/CUPRA Hub Editor to deliver essential communications to their network of Retailers. The CUPRA brand is evolving and you’ll be at the heart of it. This is an exciting opportunity with a forward-thinking brand that has lots in store for the new year.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
* Write engaging content to keep the people who work in SEAT and CUPRA’s national network up to date with all the latest news, updates, offers and incentives, so that they have all the information to excel at their jobs
* Work with the SEAT/CUPRA Hub Editor to manage the SEAT and CUPRA Hubs
* Send out a daily round-up of latest news using Mailchimp
* Work with stakeholders across the SEAT and CUPRA brands to create content that supports product and campaign launches
* Film and edit videos from the brand where needed
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria
* A degree in journalism or English, or demonstrable alternative experience and aptitude
* Strong written and communication skills, with an keen eye for detail
* The ability to multitask, effectively managing your own workload and proactively seeking opportunities to help
* Digital content experience, particularly using a CMS (eg Wordpress) but ideally also some knowledge of tools such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Google Analytics
* The ability to follow a robust content creation, sign-off and publishing process
* A basic understanding of how brands use digital content to grow and retain audiences
* The confidence to work in a busy, client-facing office environment, where a calm, positive attitude is vital
* An interest in cars (not essential, but useful)
* Most importantly, a desire to become a highly valued team member and all-round digital content superstar!
