Safran Seats specializes in designing and producing aircrafts seats of all classes which includes pilot and crew seats, economy and premium-economy, business and first class seats. Airlines all around the world are our direct customer but passengers are the end-users of our products. Within our field, the Industrial designer is the champion of the passenger experience. Their mission is to deliver new and better aircraft seating solutions by working hand in hand with marketing, sales, engineering and program teams. The designer is at the very origin of any new product development and follows its development all the way to the production line. Their role is to turn market insights into a product, elevating the passenger experience while integrating technical constraints. Part of the Advanced Concept Team, designers report to the Advanced Concept Manager (Lead Industrial Designer) Key Responsibilities and Duties: New concept generation: *Create new seating solutions based on sales, marketing and engineering inputs *Participate in internal and external innovation competitions *Generate innovative LOPA (2D drawings of cabin implementation) *Analyze, breakdown and evaluate competition products or concepts Product line development: *Work with the architect and engineering team in order to create new product lines with a platform principle mindset (flexibility in X and Y axis of the plane, customization, airline branding…) *Be responsible of preserving the design intent and the passenger experience Sales campaign support: *Generation of high quality visuals (renderings, roughs…) of our products *Support "co-creation" phases with airlines and/or a design agencies *Present our products during tradeshows and/or at customer seat shows. Program support: *Bring continuous support to programs by being the link between the airlines' marketing team and/or the design agency and our engineering department. *Being the voice of the customer and championing for the end user experience. Patented innovation: *Propose ideas that have never been done in the industry while bringing value to either the seat maker, the airline or the passenger. *File an invention disclosure when such idea is being found and to follow up with it until the patent is published or rejected by the patent review board.
