As our Fleet Ambassador, your key objectives include:
1. Ensuring all vehicles are checked for condition and roadworthiness, in compliance with legal, corporate, and operational standards, reporting exceptions via the vehicle check app and defect procedure.
2. Verifying that drivers identify and report defects correctly, and ensuring rectification.
3. Conducting start and end of contract handovers for Owner Driver leased vehicles, including employment, termination, vehicle swaps, and hire vans.
4. Providing support to depot operations through regular site and equipment checks.
5. Reporting fleet accidents on our portal TranMan.
Key Daily Checks
* Inspect all fleet and rental vehicles daily, recording their condition via the Vehicle App.
* Ensure all 3.5 Tonne Vans do not exceed 3.5 tonnes using the weighbridge.
* VOR (vehicle off road) inspection and damage reporting for vehicles.
* Check all associated equipment, including material handling tools, jump packs, fuel pumps, and enclosures.
* Adhere to health and safety rules, maintaining clear traffic flow and effective parking.
* Ensure drivers wear correct DPD uniforms and that vehicles are clean and meet company standards.
Key Weekly Checks
* Populate 21-day notices for damaged Owner Driver vehicles via the app.
* Record notices in a shared Google Calendar with the Transport Team.
* Review outstanding notices with the Depot Quality or Depot Manager.
* Conduct weekly checks and download data from the HGV fleet to identify discrepancies.
* Check and reorder fleet stock items (lamps, bulbs, etc.) as needed.
* Ensure the gritter is operational and clean during winter, reporting defects to the Regional Transport Engineer.
