This position is Full Time, Open ended.
The Foundation Year within the School of Science is seeking a committed and enthusiastic University Teacher in Mathematics to join our team. This is a key role supporting the delivery of teaching and learning to Foundation students, preparing them for progression to degree-level study. The roles require commitment beyond teaching as Foundation students require additional academic and pastoral support in preparation for their future studies.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Deliver engaging teaching and assessment primarily on the Foundation Programme, including modules in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics relevant to engineering and science disciplines.
2. Has the potential to teach Accounting to students on the Social Science and Humanities stream.
3. Provide academic guidance and study skills support to students, helping them to succeed and progress.
4. Contribute to curriculum development and review, ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
5. Work collaboratively as part of the Foundation Programme team and take on responsibilities such as Module Leader and Personal Tutor.
6. Contribute to additional activities for example induction, open day, admissions, and pastoral care where needed.
Key Requirements:
7. Experience of teaching mathematics and another science or finance subject at Secondary, Further or Higher Education level.
8. Ability to lead modules and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment.
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support students’ academic and personal development.
10. A degree in Mathematics or a related discipline and a recognised teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving one,, FHEA).
