Overview

Contract: 37 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks. Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (part time considered – minimum 4 days per week). Start date: 1 January 2026 (earlier start date may be considered). Application Deadline: 9am, Wednesday 8 October 2025. Salary: Support Staff Grade 4, £22,995.17 – £28,793.85 per annum (£25,647 – £31,889 FTE).

There are currently four academies within the Trust: The Sixth Form College Farnborough, Tomlinscote School, Frimley CofE Junior School and St Marks CofE Primary School. We are excited to announce a new opportunity at The Sixth Form College as part of a restructure within our Student Services Team. We are seeking a new team of dedicated and passionate Student Progress Advisors to support Year 12 and 13 students in achieving their full potential. The Role

The Student Progress Advisor will be a key member of our pastoral support team, responsible for up to 11 tutor groups. You will work closely with students to ensure they complete their courses and reach their academic goals while also supporting their personal development. This role is central to improving student achievement and well-being, ensuring students excel both inside and outside the classroom.


Key Responsibilities

* Act as the primary point of communication with parents/guardians of students within your tutor groups
* Track and monitor the academic progress of tutees, ensuring they meet or exceed their expected achievement levels
* Identify students at risk of underachievement and initiate timely interventions
* Monitor attendance and punctuality, implementing interventions as needed to promote consistent attendance
* Ensure students maintain high standards of personal conduct in alignment with the ethos of the college
* Support student welfare and well-being, offering early help when necessary, and referring safeguarding concerns in line with college policies
* Maintain accurate student records using Cristalweb and CPOMS
* Deliver group tutorials as part of the core Tutorial Programme, Tutorial+ and The Prospects Diploma
* Participate in careers advice and guidance, supporting students with UCAS applications and progression planning
* Provide references for students’ UCAS applications and progression applications
* Assist with careers events such as Getting Ready Day, work experience facilitation, and support wider college activities including open evenings and parents’ consultation events
* Participate in the College’s Quality Assurance Cycle and Performance Management process
* Attend training sessions and undertake statutory training as required for the role


Contract Information

This post is a term time plus two weeks contract. Term time at the College starts the week after GCSE results day. The additional two weeks required to work will contractually include working two days over A‑Level results day, and two days to support enrolment over GCSE results days. For example, Summer 2026 dates are 13th, 14th August and 20th, 21st August 2026. There will also be a requirement to work some twilight sessions across the academic year to support interview evenings.
