Location: East Anglia Offshore Windfarm
Salary: Up to £51,446 (DOE) with up to 10% Annual Bonus and Single Healthcare
The Balance of Plant (BOP) Technician – Electrically biased will support the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of the windfarm assets (Foundations, Offshore Substation, Onshore Substation, Onsite base facilities). This includes preventative and corrective maintenance activities and requires onshore and offshore working.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Service, maintain and troubleshoot all 102 Wind Turbine cranes and Turbine Foundation associated equipment.
* Assist in maintenance tasks on generation side Onshore and Offshore substations, working with the HV team and specialist Contractors.
* Fault find and troubleshoot to identify failure causes and determine corrective action plans, assisting in retrofit solutions and liaising with the Engineering department.
* Assist with HV switching, isolation, earthing under instruction of SAP in accordance with ScottishPower Renewables High Voltage Safety Rules.
* Assist in performing audits and inspections and execute BOP scheduled maintenance plan and maintain BOP spare parts and tools (Onshore).
* Participate in minor projects contributing to yearly appraisal targets set by Line Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
* Request and process necessary permit to work documentation.
* Assist in picking and checking Offshore spares and tools for work execution.
* Accompany site visitors / HV Technicians and other site staff in site visits, Onshore, and Offshore.
* Complete required internal and external training courses.
* Opportunities for development: control room operations, other trade skillsets and disciplines, Health and Safety qualifications.
What You’ll Bring
* Electrical qualification or strong background in electrical competence.
* Experience working in an Offshore Wind Environment (desirable).
* Experience maintaining electrical / mechanical equipment.
* Experience performing maintenance on cranes (desirable).
* Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
* Planning and organisational skills.
* Reporting and communication skills.
* Flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment.
* Experience working with a safe system of work.
