This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic to join the School of Nursing and Midwifery as Principal Lecturer and Subject Lead in Mental Health Nursing. We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our mental health nursing provision, shaping education, research, and practice in this vital field.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is nationally recognized for its innovative approach to healthcare education. Our programmes, including the FdSc Nursing Associate, BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult, Children's, and Mental Health), are approved by the NMC. Our MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Apprenticeships achieve high student satisfaction and graduate employability.
As Subject Lead, you will provide strategic leadership for mental health nursing, ensuring academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with healthcare priorities. You will oversee curriculum design and delivery, promote inclusive pedagogies, and inspire students and colleagues through research-informed teaching and mentorship.
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS Trusts and the school's leadership, to develop meaningful learning opportunities and ensure graduates are prepared for diverse care settings. You will also be involved in staff recruitment, development, and retention, fostering a collaborative academic culture.
This role offers the chance to impact mental health nursing education and practice significantly. Support for professional development and opportunities to contribute to research and external engagement are provided.
