Who are Women’s Aid?
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of just under 180 organisations which provide over 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Our support services, which include our Live Chat, the Survivors’ Forum, the No Woman Turned Away Project, the Survivor’s Handbook, Love Respect (our dedicated website for young people), the national Women’s Aid Directory and our advocacy projects, help thousands of women and children every year.
Purpose of the Interim Fundraising Officer role:
The Interim Fundraising Officer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Women’s Aid strategy across all our fundraising and business development income streams. The post holder will be responsible for building our pipeline of opportunities and converting these into income generation opportunities and will work with external and internal stakeholders to develop trusting relationships and help to grow the charities portfolio. The Interim Fundraising Officer will identify, cultivate, engage and steward existing and new donor prospects through bespoke proposals, events, and other appropriate fundraising activities to generate income and achieve ambitious targets.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Interim Fundraising Officer:
Support the generation of creative and impactful collateral across the team, to ensure proposals, presentations and information (aligned with the WA strategic objectives and messaging) attract and retain donors. Work with teams across the organisation to identify opportunities for income growth. Support tailored donor journeys and ensure strategic relationship management. Oversee donor communications promptly and courteously, ensuring that all information is accurate, up to date and well organised. Develop, build, update and generate portfolios and pipelines to raise income. Take responsibility for all administrative tasks in relation to the role. Process all incoming donations in line with internal procedure. Support the Head of Fundraising in tracking and recording income on a regular basis.
