Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a role as a Housing Stock Condition Surveyor within the Asset Maintenance team. We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled surveyor and accredited domestic energy assessor, with a housing, construction or surveying qualification or the equivalent proven experience. The ideal candidate will have experience of undertaking Stock Condition Surveys and of using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System to assess hazards in homes. You should possess excellent communication skills and be able to manage your own workload. Strong organisational skills, an ability to work under pressure, and a flexible approach to work are essential. You must be confident in the use of IT systems and capable of navigating through MS Office and Outlook, and have experience of housing databases and the use of handheld devices for surveys.
Responsibilities
* Undertake condition surveys and HHSRS assessments within the Council's housing stock of 4,800 properties.
* Undertake EPCs on the Council’s Housing Stock.
* Report identified issues, hazards and repairs and maintenance required to the properties that are surveyed.
* Book survey appointments and contact tenants as needed; undertake some door knocking to gain access to properties.
About the team
You will be joining the Asset Management team, within "Asset Maintenance". The Asset Management Team is dedicated to delivering high quality outcomes for the Council. The team manages the delivery of low energy, new build Council Housing along with the provision of Stock Condition surveys, EPCs, HHSRS assessments and data for the wider Asset Maintenance team. The Stock Condition team provides condition data on the Council's housing stock to enable planned works and low carbon retrofit activities.
