The purpose of the role is to ensure the timely, safe, and efficient transport of goods/equipment into and out of the Preston site to meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Transport designated loads to the assigned destination under the guidance of the Transport Manager.
2. Meet the timescales set by the Transport Manager in line with legal guidelines or report any shortcomings promptly.
3. Drive in accordance with current road highway legislation, maintaining speed limits and safe driving practices.
4. Maintain a valid LGV Driving License for the appropriate vehicle class.
5. Check pallet numbers and box counts before signing authorization documents to ensure accuracy.
6. Follow customer guidelines for delivery into depots, maintaining Cranswick Country Foods' reputation.
7. Document relevant paperwork accurately.
8. Keep the cab clean and adhere to safety and hygiene regulations.
9. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
10. Perform vehicle checks and report faults immediately to the Transport Manager.
11. Drive safely and responsibly at all times.
12. Maintain high work performance, including attendance and punctuality.
13. Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient product throughput.
14. Contribute to KPIs related to quality, health, safety, environment, yields, and customer service.
15. Manage activities to ensure food safety, integrity, legality, and quality.
16. Maintain good housekeeping and hygiene practices, focusing on temperature control and hygiene.
Qualifications and Experience:
* HGV Driving License (Class 1).
* Direct experience as an HGV Driver.
* Experience in FMCG manufacturing (advantageous).
