Infrastructure Architect – Government Data Centre Migration Up to £750/day (Inside IR35) London (Hybrid) 12 months SC Cleared and eSC eligible We’re seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and delivery of a major on-premise data centre to data centre migration for a central UK Government department. You’ll be responsible for defining and owning the end-to-end technical architecture – from discovery and assessment through to execution – ensuring secure, resilient, and low-disruption migration of critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Lead architecture for compute, storage, networking, and security Define migration strategy, tooling, sequencing, rollback and DR plans Produce and govern HLDs and LLDs aligned to enterprise standards Engage with delivery teams, security, vendors, and senior stakeholders Support implementation and act as technical escalation point Essential Experience: Significant experience leading complex data centre migrations Deep technical knowledge of: Compute: Windows/Linux, VMware, Hyper-V Storage: SAN/NAS, backup, replication Networking: LAN/WAN, firewalls, load balancers IAM: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP Strong background in designing for HA, DR, performance, and compliance Excellent documentation and stakeholder engagement skills SC Cleared and eligible for eSC Desirable: Certifications (VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, TOGAF, ITIL) Background in defence, healthcare, or other regulated sectors Familiarity with hybrid or cloud-ready architectures To hear more get in touch with Connor Smyth at Anson McCade on 020 7780 6706.
