Commercial Administrator (Temporary)

About the Role
A busy commercial department in Kendal is undergoing a system transfer and requires a confident, proactive Commercial Administrator to support the team during this transition period.
Two systems are currently running in parallel, and the commercial team are having to duplicate quote generation. This temporary role is designed to relieve that pressure, supporting with data migration, administrative duties and quote population so the team can focus on core commercial work.
This position is ideal for someone who picks things up quickly, enjoys working with systems, and is comfortable working independently once trained.
Key Responsibilities
* Data migration support:
o Populate quotes in the new system based on information already created in the old system (copying data across accurately).
* System administration:
o Use two internal systems
o Identify differences between systems and follow set processes consistently.
* General commercial administration, including:
o Contract filing and document organisation
o Updating internal records
o Administrative “bits and bobs” to lighten the team’s workload
* Communication with wider teams:
o Liaise with colleagues in other offices via Microsoft Teams for guidance or queries
o Ensure accuracy and completeness of information when transferring data
* Maintain confidentiality, compliance and accuracy across all tasks.
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong administrative background — ideally within commercial, procurement, operations, governance, or similar office environments.
* Highly confident using computer systems and able to adapt quickly to new software.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling data.
* Ability to work independently after initial training (expected to be minimal).
* Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to seek support when required.
* Good communication skills, especially when liaising with remote team members.
