The Role:
The successful candidate is expected:
* To teach the following in person: Operational Research module from mid-September to mid-December 2025 on campus (The module is 36 hours and will be taught to 3 to 4 groups, depending on availabilities):
* Operational Research (Bachelor Year 3, Level 6) – semester abroad for an Integrated Master’s programme in Computational Science.
* The module is structured in two parts:
* Linear Programming, covering model formulation, the graphical solution method, the simplex algorithm, duality theory, and sensitivity analysis;
* Optimisation, focusing on single-variable optimisation, constrained optimisation involving non-linear objective functions with multiple variables, and the application of Lagrangian methods.
* To design the module handbooks (a template will be provided) and all teaching -related content.
* To design and mark all assessments, providing constructive written feedback.
* To attend induction & core meetings.
* To monitor, evaluate, and assess individual student progress and achievement.
* To monitor students' attendance and maintain records.
* To deliver inclusive and high-quality teaching.
* To fully participate in the quality assurance and improvement processes and procedures.
Person Specification:
* Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK
* Master's in a relevant field
* Ability to provide excellent, personalised support & feedback to students
* Excellent level of written and spoken English
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent ability with Microsoft package and VLE
* Qualification in HE Teaching e.g. PG Cert in Learning & Teaching
* Fellowship of Advance HE
Salary & Benefits:
* From £80/h depending on qualification and experience.
* Potential funding for Advance HE Fellowship application.
