Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and culinary practices, with a keen understanding of food safety standards. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meat products for our customers while ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety regulations. This role is essential in maintaining the quality of our offerings and contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cut various types of meat, including beef, pork, lamb, and poultry, according to specifications.
- Ensure all meat products are handled and stored in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butcher area, including equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfil meat orders efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor inventory levels of meat products and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering queries regarding meat preparation and cooking techniques.
- Train junior staff on proper butchery techniques and food safety practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar role within food production or culinary environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Proficiency in using butchery tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A passion for food preparation and culinary arts is highly desirable.
