Principal Psychologist will provide clinical leadership and expertise to our Family Safeguarding Team, working with clients and their families/carers to deliver high quality specialist applied psychology services.
The post will be based within the Family Safeguarding Service of Surrey County Council, permanently seconded from SABP.
Our family safeguarding model brings together all the professionals we need, under one roof, to provide intensive support to parents who are at high risk due to severe parenting problems, including maltreatment and neglect. It focuses on training team members in motivational interviewing, engaging parents in self‑assessment of risk and change, and integrating group interventions and relationship strengthening as part of everyday work. The team operates in a trauma‑informed way, offering trauma‑focused interventions to parents.
