Job Description – Apprentice IT Systems Assistant

Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice IT Systems Assistant to join their team in London.

£20,000 - £23,932

Job Purpose:

We seek enthusiastic, reliable and bright candidates wishing to gain knowledge and experience in frontline support of our internal customers and management/ maintenance of the systems we use via an Apprenticeship in Infrastructure Technician Level 3.

The role of the IT Systems Assistant Apprentice will gain the knowledge and understanding required to work as part of the Information Technology function and manage/ maintain the company's IT systems and services.

You will gain the knowledge and understanding required to provide support and technical expertise to the wider company as part of the IT systems administration team.

Role and Responsibilities:

· Build understanding of Service Desk Operations, including logging tickets accurately, updating ticket details and helping ensure users receive timely and effective support.

· Gain knowledge and experience in monitoring service desk performance, including reviewing key metrics, identifying trends and contributing to improvements that help maintain an effective service desk.

· Gain the knowledge and understanding required to support our core business systems, including Microsoft 365 apps, Amazon Connect telephony system, CRM systems and other tools used across the business.

· Gain the knowledge to be able to provide efficient User Access Management requests to relevant systems for both internal and contactor / service partners and in line with security policies.

· Look for opportunities to implement automation wherever possible to reduce cost to serve.

· Gain the ability to ensure that the company's computing resources are well managed with

· records kept detailing allocation of hardware, software licences and other assets.

· Gain the skills required to implement IT security policy and procedures.

· Gain the skills required to implement the company's data protection policy ensure that data security is robust.

· Gain the ability to support hardware and software support to both desktop and mobile users across the business, in all locations.

· Gain the knowledge and understanding required to ensure that all cases are logged on our helpdesk system.

· Gain the knowledge and understanding required to ensure that all systems are monitored using tools provided

· Display Community Fibres core principle, values and goals.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

We ideally want candidates to have at least a Grade C or above in Maths and English and a keen interest in the field/area.

· A curiosity and aptitude towards IT Systems and processes as well as technology.

· Desire to work in an agile, fast paced environment and go the 'extra mile'.

· Be a self-starter.

· Be open, honest, and transparent.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Love learning and developing new skills.

Working Conditions

Flexibility will be required from time to time as our IT Systems Support team may need to work the occasional weekend to provide support to our internal customer
