Job Title: Hire Desk Assistant

Location: Wincham, Cheshire (Must be able to drive due to location)

We provide high-quality plant, accommodation, and service solutions to projects across the UK. We are now seeking a proactive and organised Hire Desk Assistant to join our team.

The Role
As a Hire Desk Assistant, you'll play a crucial part in delivering efficient hire services, supporting internal and external customers, and helping to optimise the performance of our accomodation and equipment hire business. You'll be responsible for coordinating orders, managing product areas, handling queries, and ensuring assets are utilised to their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

* Accurately process orders for equipment supply in a timely manner
* Provide advice on equipment requirements to site personnel
* Act as the first point of contact for queries, breakdowns, and exchanges
* Organise administrative workloads to ensure smooth operations
* Manage on/off hire requests for both stocked and rehired equipment
* Monitor and maximise asset availability and utilisation
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Health & Safety
* Work with the Purchase Ledger team to resolve supplier invoice queries
* Assist the Customer Service team with customer-related issues
* Provide customers with pricing, availability, and scheduling information
* Maintain accurate and methodical administration in line with team operations
Key Objectives (3-Year Outlook)
* Foster and promote a "Safety First" culture
* Build strong product knowledge to better meet customer needs and encourage repeat business
What We're Looking For

Essential:
* Good level of IT proficiency
* Strong organisational and planning skills
* A passion for customer service and operational excellence
* A proactive, diplomatic, and collaborative approach
* Relevant operational experience in a similar field
* Ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment
Desirable:
* Previous customer service experience in a large organisation
* Familiarity with COINS/Salesforce
* Understanding of financial/commercial operations
* Knowledge of other Select Plant Hire products
* Experience in plant hire or temporary accommodation services
