We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Onley, a category C Prison located in Northamptonshire.
HMP Onley is a busy male retraining prison with a capacity for around 750 inmates. There is free parking on site and a free gym for you to use. We are recruiting for a pharmacy assistant to support with tasks such as second checking, ordering medication and medication rounds on the wing.
Hours
Monday - Friday 0800 - 1600
Salary
This position is full time, you will receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
* Work as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
* Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing-based clinical areas
* Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions

Qualifications required
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
* Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential
* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
* Ability to work within a busy environment
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
