Salary: £40,040 - £45,246 per year dependent on experience
Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that from 1 April 2023, roles requiring PVG membership will require candidates to cover the cost. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above, including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour).
The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members. This cost will be deducted from the employee’s first full month’s salary.
Job Purpose:
To provide comprehensive, intensive community care services to individuals, their families, and carers as part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team. The role involves promoting involvement in and understanding of assessment processes, including crisis/urgent, short-term, or planned longer-term interventions for individuals with complex health and social care needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least one of the following:
• BA Social Work or equivalent, or a professional qualification in OT or Nursing (1st level registration RGN with community experience)
• Registration with relevant professional body – i.e., SSSC, NMC, or BHPC
• PVG
Key Skills and Demonstrations:
• Acting as designated lead professional in assessing and implementing interagency plans
• Managing risk and balancing conflicting demands
• Building relationships and effective communication with service users, staff, carers, and professionals
• Interviewing, investigation, and assessment skills (including finance)
• Planning, decision-making, and counselling skills
• Reviewing, evaluating, report writing, and record keeping
• Commitment to high-quality, person-centred customer service
• Compliance with health and safety policies and legislation
• Managing priorities, time, and meeting deadlines
• Mentoring and supporting new staff and students
