We are currently recruiting a Senior / Principal Transcriptomics Scientist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Senior / Principal Transcriptomics Scientist, you will be responsible for driving the delivery and execution of clinical transcriptomics and high-plex proteomics assays within a Biomarker Assay Sciences group.
This is an initial 12 month contract with potential extension.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Employ your proven expertise to establish fit‑for‑purpose Transcriptomics and high‑plex Proteomics methods, planning, designing, and executing experiments to deliver high‑quality data for non‑clinical and clinical studies.
2. Represent the team as a Subject Matter Expert in multiple stakeholder interactions, working alongside biomarker specialists, bioinformaticians, and external CROs to deliver key methods and data in line with project deadlines.
3. Utilise your scientific knowledge to contribute to data analysis and interpretation, communicating results promptly and effectively.
4. Organise and prioritise your workload to meet team and portfolio deliverables, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and the directives of the Human Tissue Act (HTA).
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Senior / Principal Transcriptomics Scientist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a related field, preferably a PhD/MSc or equivalent academic qualification.
2. Extensive industry experience in molecular biology principles with a specific focus on transcriptomics, utilising various RNA sequencing approaches.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with qPCR/ddPCR assay validation, high‑plex proteomics panels, and bioinformatics.
