Main Responsibilities
* Promote the highest standards of care within the nursing home.
* Uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity and choice.
* Provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff and visitors.
* Adhere to SSSC Code of Conduct.
* Maintain professional appearance in dress, manner, hygiene and behaviour.
* Report injuries, illnesses or dangerous practices to relevant personnel.
* Maintain accurate and complete records as required by the company and statutory bodies.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 1 year’s care experience within an elderly care setting, including nursing homes, hospitals or community based. Student nurses are welcome to apply.
* For the Principal Carer post, an SVQ3 is essential along with team‑leadership experience in a care environment.
* Experience working with elderly people and knowledge of dementia care.
* Strong time‑management and prioritisation skills.
* Problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to manage a diverse range of situations effectively within a nursing home setting.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly report writing.
* Ability to handle a variety of issues and respond appropriately.
