Job Title:Maintenance Engineer
Location: Burton Upon TrentSalary: £55,000 Bonuses (Approx £60,000)Shift:(Three Shift Rotation, MondayFriday)Role Purpose

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across all operations. This includes high-voltage systems (up to 11kV), mobile plant, and fixed infrastructure. The role supports equipment reliability and ensures full compliance with statutory and site specific electrical safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Install, inspect, and maintain HV/LV electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, and control panels.

* Perform electrical installations for new infrastructure and system upgrades.

* Diagnose and repair faults on equipment such as mobile plant (e.g., drills, loaders, trucks), conveyors, crushers, pumps, and ventilation systems.

* Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance in line with safety and operational standards.

* Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance work, and electrical schematics.

* Assist in commissioning and handover of new installations and system modifications.

* Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, operations, and engineering teams to minimise downtime and enhance reliability.

* Adhere to the Electricity at Work Regulations, risk assessments, and site-specific procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

* Proven experience with mobile plant and heavy industrial electrical systems.

* HV switching and isolation competency (preferred).

* Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and motor control systems.

* Desirable experience across multiple fields of electrical engineering:

o Electrical testing and inspection

o High voltage switching procedures

o Diagnostics and repair of mobile plant systems

Skills & Attributes
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

* Safety-first mindset with a proactive approach to risk management.

* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

* Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments, including underground and confined spaces.

* Flexible and reliable, with a willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule (MondayFriday).
