Qualified Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention / Permanence Team Location: Merseyside
Pay Rate: £34 per hour
Full-Time (36 hours) | Hybrid Working Available
Are you an experienced Social Worker who thrives on making a real difference in the lives of children and families? We’re looking for confident, skilled practitioners to join both the Assessment & Intervention and Permanence Teams within a progressive North West local authority.
These frontline roles involve direct work with children and families, safeguarding, risk assessments, and long-term care planning — all with the goal of delivering stability, safety and brighter futures.
About the Roles:
Assessment & Intervention Team:
* Conduct timely assessments under Section 17 and Section 47
* Respond to referrals, identify risk and determine the appropriate level of intervention
* Work in a fast-paced team focused on early help, de-escalation, and safeguarding
Permanence Team:
* Support children with long-term care plans
* Deliver consistent support to children in care and those transitioning to permanency
* Build trusted relationships with families, carers, and professionals to achieve the best outcomes
Both teams offer:

What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
* 4+ years' post-qualified experience, ideally in safeguarding, permanence or frontline roles
* Deep understanding of child protection legislation and care planning frameworks
* Excellent written and verbal communication, including court work
* Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families
* Creative, resilient, and outcome-driven approach
