The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team and provide dedicated legal support to multiple D&M businesses. This is a hands-on, business-facing role where you will work closely with senior leadership teams, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, manage the IP portfolio with outside counsel, address general business legal matters, and help shape our global legal strategy.
This is an excellent opportunity for a UK-qualified solicitor with strong commercial contracts experience who enjoys variety, autonomy and direct interaction with business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial Contracts: Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, including sales, procurement, distribution, supply, and service contracts across UK, US and EMEA markets.
* Advisory Work: Provide pragmatic legal advice to business leaders on commercial, regulatory and compliance matters.
* Intellectual Property: Manage IP matters (patents, trademarks), coordinating with external counsel where required, and supporting internal teams on IP strategy.
* Regulatory Compliance: Support GDPR and ITAR compliance, and advise on marketing/advertising and procurement law issues.
* Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate legal risks, support dispute resolution and manage legal spend effectively.
* Collaboration: Liaise with other SPX legal team members globally and contribute to best practice initiatives and standard contract development.
About You
* Qualified Solicitor with a strong academic background.
* PQE, gained in private practice and/or an in-house environment.
* Excellent drafting skills with a proven ability to generate and negotiate legal language for complex commercial agreements.
* Experience managing IP matters and advising on regulatory issues.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise senior leadership teams.
* Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload across multiple jurisdictions.
