Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and inspiring Head of Geography to lead and develop our Geography department from Year 7 to Year 13, starting in September.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geography teacher with proven departmental leadership experience, or for a strong practitioner ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward‑thinking secondary school.
Responsibilities
* Lead, manage and develop a successful Geography department across KS3, KS4 and KS5
* Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and outcomes for all students
* Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and progression from Year 7 through Year 13
* Support, mentor and develop Geography staff within the department
* Play a key role in the wider leadership of the school
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching Geography across secondary key stages (KS3–KS5)
* Experience leading a department or subject area, or strong evidence of readiness for leadership
* A passion for Geography and a commitment to high‑quality teaching and learning
* Strong organisational and communication skills
