Temporary Works Design Engineer
We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join our busy, fast‑paced department in Studley. As a Temporary Works Design Engineer you will work on a variety of projects involving abnormal load transportation and installation solutions nationwide.
Job description
We will be responsible for designing, analysing, and specifying the temporary structures and equipment necessary to support the safe and efficient handling of large and heavy loads across multiple project locations.
Key responsibilities
* Check temporary structure designs involving bespoke equipment including calculations, drawings, and design certificates.
* Conduct structural analysis and calculations of existing equipment to ensure they meet safety and design standards.
* Design modifications to existing equipment or design new equipment when required.
* Produce drawings of designs and modifications to suitable standards for manufacture.
* Obtain or provide pricing for estimating purposes.

Skills & qualifications required
* BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* 3 years of experience preferably with a mix of site and design office/Design experience with exposure to Temporary Works Design.
* Incorporated/chartered with a relevant institution (or in the process achieving such a qualification).
* Proficiency in structural analysis and CAD software (e.g. Tekla TEDDS, STAAD Pro, and AutoCAD).
* Working knowledge of BS 5975 and experience with steelwork and timber Codes.
* Able to coach and mentor others.
* Good IT skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Full driving licence.

* Position reports to: Engineering Director.
* Location: Studley, Warwickshire.
* Hours: 40 hours per week.
