Chef de Partie / Junior Sous Chef
Country House Hotel | Oxfordshire
Up to £35,000 + Tips | Live-in Available
An opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join a well-established country house hotel operating within a small, privately owned group.
This is a hands-on role within a relaxed but structured kitchen, supporting a steady mix of restaurant service, weddings, corporate functions and events.
-----------------------------------
The Role
Working alongside an experienced Executive Chef (who oversees both sites) and a small, stable team, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
You will:
* Support daily service across restaurant, functions and events
* Work closely with a strong Chef de Partie already in place
* Maintain good organisation, prep standards and consistency
* Assist with stock control and general kitchen management
* Step up and lead sections confidently during service
* Occasionally support the sister site when required
This is a practical, on-the-tools role, ideal for a chef who enjoys being part of a team rather than managing from the office.
-----------------------------------
The Kitchen
The food offering is fresh, seasonal and modern British, delivered across:
* Relaxed restaurant dining
* Weddings and private functions
* Corporate events
The style is quality-led but not fine dining — focusing on consistency, good produce and well-executed service rather than overly technical menus.
-----------------------------------
The Package
* Up to £35,000 salary (depending on experience)
* Monthly tips paid via payroll
* Live-in accommodation available (£13 per day)
* 5 days out of 7 (rota-based)
* Support from an experienced Executive Chef
* Long-term stability within a small, owner-led group
-----------------------------------
The Ideal Candidate
* Chef de Partie ready to step up or current Junior Sous
* Experience in hotels, gastro pubs or fresh-food kitchens
* Comfortable working across both restaurant and events
* Reliable, organised and calm under pressure
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Driving licence preferred (due to occasional travel between sites)
-----------------------------------
Why This Role
This is a great opportunity for a chef looking for:
* A stable, long-term role
* A supportive, low-ego kitchen environment
* The chance to develop into a more senior position over time
You’ll be joining a small, friendly team where personality matters just as much as ability.
