Sonovision has the requirement for a design focal point to support a transnational contract predominantly providing design services for Ground Support Equipment and Tooling with a major aerospace OEM. This is a hybrid role, combining direct support to the customer's design office in Bristol with collaboration across Sonovision's international design team. You will be responsible for design updates, documentation, and customer liaison, ensuring smooth project delivery. Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director, you will receive regular support from Head Office and play a key role in managing customer relationships. General Design Office Support
* Conduct research to support the Customer's design team with current and legacy designs
* Produce Digital Mock-Ups (DMUs) to digitally represent major assemblies
* Update 3D models and production/manufacturing drawings under Senior Designer guidance
* Update supporting documentation (User Guides, BOM, Design Specifications)
* Validate drawings and models to ensure quality assurance
* Control configuration for live projects (drawings, models and supporting documentation)
Inter-Company Project Management
* Needs analysis and capturing requirements
* Liaison (Progress Meetings with end customer, input/support to internal design office co‑ordination)
* Supporting Design Reviews (PDR, CDR and FDR)
* Technical liaison / query management between end customer and internal design office
* Supporting quotations for work packages (estimating level of effort, pricing model, delivery lead‑times)

Qualifications
* Level 5 or level 6 qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a design office environment
* Working knowledge of CATIA V5
* Experience in Aerospace an advantage
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work independently and proactively
* High attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable
* Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
* Knowledge of ISO9001 and EN9100
* Experience with Ground Support Equipment or Tooling design
Pay: £44,447 to £46,547
