The Rainbow Care Group – Bromley provides safe, meaningful, and community-based dementia day care. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Engagement Officer to help us extend our support to more local families. In this role, you will be the friendly and trusted face of our organisation in the community. Your purpose is to build relationships and gently guide families who are exploring dementia care options, helping them discover the support we offer through a no-obligation Taster Day.
Key Responsibilities
* Community Engagement: Represent The Rainbow Care Group at dementia cafés, GP surgeries, and local community events, acting as a resource for families and professionals.
* Build and nurture relationships with local partners (like social prescribers and healthcare professionals) who can connect us with families who would benefit from our support.
* Family Guidance and Support: Act as the first, warm point of contact for families reaching out via Facebook, our website, or through local partners.
* Listen to their needs and answer their questions, offering reassurance and clear information about our services.
* Invite and coordinate free taster sessions, making the process simple and stress-free for families exploring their options.
* Gently follow up with families, ensuring they feel supported and have all the information they need to take the next step.
* Share the mission and benefits of our service at open days and community gatherings.
* Distribute helpful information and raise awareness of the support available for families living with dementia in the local area.
* Admin & Reporting: Maintain clear records of conversations, community activities, and the journey of families you support.
* Provide weekly updates to the directors on community outreach and family engagement progress.
Who We're Looking For
* You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to listen and show empathy.
* Previous experience in community outreach, healthcare, social care, or a related field is helpful, but not essential.
* You are confident and approachable when engaging with families, healthcare professionals, and community groups.
* You hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car (mileage is reimbursed).
* You are comfortable with basic computer tasks (email, Facebook, spreadsheets).
* You are a proactive, self-motivated person who can work with compassion and independence.
