Safeguarding / Suitable Person / Behaviour / Health / Medication You must know/understand setting policy and procedure for safeguarding You must know how and who to report child protection concerns to e.g. who is the child protection officer You must be fully aware of who is authorised to collect the chid from the setting, and the procedure to follow if someone unknown arrives You will be required to complete courses in relation to safeguarding. This is to ensure you have up to date knowledge. It may be necessary to complete training outside of your usual working hours. You will have undergone the procedure for an enhanced DBS disclosure; it is your responsibility to inform the nursery manager of any details that may affect this. You will be required to complete a health declaration when joining the setting. You will be asked to regularly review this it remains your responsibility to advise the manager of any changes to your health that could affect your job role. If you are going to be absent from work you must adhere to our reporting in sick procedure as stipulated in your contract of employment. Failure to comply with this will result in disciplinary procedures being engaged. You must understand the nursery policy for behaviour management and adhere to our guidelines at all times. No physical interventions are to be used. You must fully understand the age and stage of development of the children you are working with and use methods that are appropriate to manage incidents of behaviour. If a child’s behaviour is being monitored (i.e. with a reward chart) this must be fully implemented at all times. If the chart is no longer valid please remove it. If you identify a need for a child to have additional support in relation to their behaviour please report your concerns to the behaviour management coordinator. At all times we must work with the parents to manage a child’s behaviour. You must fully implement nursery procedure for the administration of medicines at all times. This includes how medicines are stored, handled, which staff are authorised to give medicines and how we communicate each child’s needs.
