The post will be based at either our South or West site and includes 1 SEN allowance.
ChellowHeights Special School would like to appoint a Class Teacher to join our expanding team to work in small classes of pupils in a special school setting.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with passion and commitment to make a difference.
We are looking to recruit Teachers who are experienced in working with children with a range of special needs.
The post will be based at either our South or West site.
You will work as part of a team of specialist staff to contribute to the effective and efficient teaching and learning of pupils with additional needs and will:
* Teach and support pupils in a special school setting with reference to their education, social and emotional development liaising with colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals.
* Support the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people by adopting an attachment aware and trauma informed approach to all practice.
Applying agreed strategies for managing wellbeing including classroom management that fosters a nurturing and Emotion Coaching approach.
About ChellowHeights
ChellowHeights school is a large special school which is located on two separate sites. Both sites offer exceptional learning environments for our pupils which enhance their learning and quality of life experiences.
These include an outstanding outdoor provision, multi-sensory rooms, soft play, food technology rooms and our 'engine' rooms which are used to support our pupils with their sensory processing.
Our West Site is the larger provision and in addition to the resources highlighted above, also boasts a multi-sensory hydrotherapy pool, rebound therapy room, music therapy room and jungle gym (soft play room).
Our South Site is a much smaller provision in terms of the size of building yet capitalises brilliantly on the large outdoor space available.
