Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Family Solicitor to join a supportive and growing law firm with offices across Wakefield, West Yorkshire and Leeds, West Yorkshire. This is a permanent job created due to increased demand within the Family team and can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis. The successful Private Family Solicitor will focus predominantly on private family law matters whilst supporting the care team on an ad-hoc basis where required. You will benefit from hybrid working and remote working post probation (3 office / 2 home split), a competitive salary (depending on experience), 26 days holiday plus bank holidays rising with service, group healthcare and bonus scheme, alongside the opportunity to help grow an established private family offering within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Role Responsibilities
* Managing your own caseload of private family matters from instruction through to completion
* Advising clients on divorce and financial settlements
* Managing cohabitation and separation agreements
* Handling pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
* Advising on child-related proceedings including contact and residence matters, parental responsibility applications, permissions and Special Guardianship matters
* Supporting clients in domestic abuse matters including warning letters and applications for Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders
* Conducting advocacy and representing clients confidently where appropriate
* Working closely with colleagues across the private family and care teams
* Providing occasional support on care matters where required, although this remains a predominantly private family law job
* Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives to continue building the private family offering
* Delivering exceptional client service whilst independently managing workloads and priorities
Person Specification
* Strong experience in private family law including children, divorce and financial matters
* Confidence managing a varied caseload autonomously
* Strong advocacy skills and confidence representing clients
* Commercial awareness with an interest in developing and growing a private family offering
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* A collaborative and supportive approach to working within a wider Family team
* Experience in care work would be advantageous, however those willing to support care matters on an ad‑hoc basis are equally encouraged to apply
* Strong organisational skills and confidence managing administrative aspects of legal work independently
