Transport Planner (BJ46782) – Redditch, England
Salary: GBP32,000 – GBP35,000 per annum.
Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team and will be responsible for planning and coordinating HGV movements across the transport network.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and optimise vehicle routes to maximise fleet utilisation and delivery performance
* Coordinate fleet schedules and monitor vehicle availability to maintain operational efficiency
* Liaise with drivers, customers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations
* Manage route changes, delays, breakdowns, and other operational issues as they arise
* Ensure compliance with transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and operational procedures
* Maintain accurate transport records, reporting, and fleet performance data
* Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations
Requirements
* Previous experience within transport planning, logistics coordination, or fleet planning
* Good understanding of transport operations, route planning, and driver hours regulations
* Experience working within fast‑paced logistics or transport environments
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
* Experience using transport planning systems and Microsoft Office packages
* Logistics or transport qualifications beneficial but not essential
* UK Driving Licence advantageous but not essential
Salary & Benefits
* Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience
* Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 18:00 with a 30‑minute unpaid break
* Some weekend working may be required during busy periods or emergency situations
